Dr. Rafik Beekun is Professor of Management and Strategy, former chair of the Managerial Sciences Department at the University of Nevada, and Senior Fulbright Scholar. He obtained his M.B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas, and his B.A. and M.A. from Columbia University, New York. He specializes in strategic management, business ethics, leadership, and the link between spirituality and management. He has published in many academic journals including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics, etc. and has authored several books including Islamic Business Ethics, Leadership: An Islamic Perspective (Dr. Jamal Badawi), and Strategic Planning and Implementation for Islamic Organizations. Previously Dr. Beekun served as President for the Association of Muslim Social Scientists (2003-2007). He has served on the Majlis-as-Shura of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) He has also served as zonal and regional representative of the Muslim Students’ Association of the USA and Canada, and as a member of ISNA Executive Committee and Majlis Shura. He has also served on the Board of Advisors of the North American Islamic Trust. He has given training workshops and lectures to upper management executives and Islamic organizations in fourteen countries.
