National Qira'at Competition


ISNA is organizing the National Qira’at Competition during its 46th Annual Convention from July 3 – July 6, 2009 at the DC Convention Center, Washington, DC.  Prizes will be given to the top three participants in the following categories:
Category I: Memorization

Participants must be 16 years of age or younger.  Qualified Scholars of Tajweed Al-Qur'an from the Global Qur’an Memorization Academy (GQMA) will assist ISNA in the overall organization of the competition and evaluation of the recitations.

Eligibility:

The following rules for eligibility will be applied:
  • Contestants are not allowed to re-compete in a category in which he/she has already won in a previous competition of ISNA. They may participate in a higher category only.
The following age brackets will apply:
  • Memorization – Age 16 and under.
  • Reading, Level 1 – Age 15 and under.
  • Reading, Level 2 – Age 13 and under.
