ISNA Offers Condolences on the Passing of Dr. Mahmoud Rashdan

(Plainfield, IN 3/20/17) – The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) today offered heartfelt condolences to the family of Dr. Mahmoud Rashdan, a pioneering leader of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) and of ISNA. Dr. Rashdan was one of the pioneering leaders of MSA who devoted his life to serving the community. He served as the first secretary general of the MSA from 1975-1981. ISNA was proud to honor Dr. Rashdan with the Mehboob Khan Community Service Recognition Award in 2009. In a statement ISNA President Azhar Azeez said: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Mahmoud Rashdan. Dr. Rashdan was a trailblazer and visionary leader who planted and nurtured the seeds of ISNA and helped it become the organization it is today. His passing is a huge loss for our community.” May Allah grant him the highest heaven and give his family patience during this difficult time.
