Through community outreach and interfaith programs, the ISNA Office for Interfaith and Community Alliances (IOICA) strengthens ties between ISNA and local grassroots organizations. The office also functions as an outreach resource for those engaged in politics and government. Dec 27, 2011 - ISNA condemns and is outraged by the series of bombings which claimed the lives of at least forty innocent worshipers in Nigeria on Christmas Day.  ISNA President Imam Magid reflected on the tragedy in an open letter in Huffington Post.

Dec 20, 2011 - The ISNA-convened interfaith coalition Shoulder-to-Shoulder responded to the controversy surrounding TLC's reality series All-American Muslim in an op-ed in The Washington Post's On Faith blog.
