At the Annual Convention Health Fair, ISNA provides free health screenings and other related information to all convention attendees. These services may vary from one event to another. Our partners in this service will include the American Red Cross, Islamic Medical Association of North America (IMANA), Compassionate Care Network (CCN), and many other dedicated volunteer health professionals.
During the upcoming 53rd Annual ISNA Convention, the health services will be provided by a collaborative effort of the following organizations:
HEALTH SCREENINGS (Saturday and Sunday, September 3-4, 2016 from 10 AM to 7 PM)
Location: Convention Center Lobby
- Diabetes Screening and Awareness
- Blood Pressure Screening
- Obesity Screening
- Dental Health Screening
- Physician Consultations
- Blood Donation (Coordinated by American Red Cross)
“And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind.” (Qur’an, 5:32)
On a typical day, 1500 blood donors are needed to meet patient’s needs in the Chicagoland area. Blood is needed to save the lives of people undergoing surgery for trauma, for heart disease, for persons suffering from bleeding disorders, for patients with severe burns and for patients undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. Each unit of blood donated potentially saves three lives.
If you are over 18, weigh more than 100 lbs, have not donated in the past 2 months, have no significant heath problems and who has not traveled to Asia or Africa within the last 12 months, you can donate.
Set aside your fears…
Set aside a little bit of time…
Help give the gift of life…
Donate blood at the ISNA Convention!
