ISNA is represented in delegation to promote just peace in the Holy Land

Dr. Sayyid Syeed, ISNA Interfaith and Community Alliances Director, has left the country on a visit to the Holy Land along with a delegation of American religious leaders. The visit is part of the National Interreligious Leadership Initiative for Peace in the Middle East (NILI)’s efforts to promote peace that would respect the rights and dignity of all parties to the Middle East conflict.

NILI is working to ensure that Middle East peace is given priority by the Obama administration, and has recently written to Pres. Obama commending his commitment to making Arab-Israeli-Palestinian peace a high priority of his Presidency. The letter strongly supports the appointment of George Mitchell as Special Middle East Envoy, and makes recommendations for next steps for peace.

The week-long visit includes meetings with activists as well as religious and political leaders in both Israel and Palestine.
