Center for American Progress Reports on the Roots of Islamophobia in America
Center for American Progress Reports on the Roots of Islamophobia in America
(Aug 30, 2011) The Center for American Progress has released a timely report highlighting the major sources of Islamophobia in America. The report entitled, "Fear, Inc.: The Roots of the Islamophobia Network in America," identifies major contributors to the agenda of misinformation about and demonization of Islam in America. The report will be particularly useful as we head into the election campaign season, where dealing with Islam in America has unfortunately become a wedge issue in the past.
A brief excerpt from the report states: "This in-depth investigation conducted by the Center for American Progress Action Fund reveals not a vast right-wing conspiracy behind the rise of Islamophobia in our nation but rather a small, tightly networked group of misinformation experts guiding an effort that reaches millions of Americans through effective advocates, media partners, and grassroots organizing."
