YPSD Vision Statement

To be a one-stop resource center for Muslim youth, those working with Muslim youth, and those researching Muslim youth development, in the United States.

YPSD Mission Statement

YPSD spearheads the development of state-of-the-art programming and services for Muslim youth in the United States, guided by Islamic teachings rooted in the Qur’an and the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), in direct collaboration and in consultation with Muslim youth and those working with Muslim youth, and informed by the most current theories, research and best practice models about Muslim youth development

YPSD Goals

God willing, by the year 2012 YPS Department will become a leading National Center that will:
  • Offer certification and training programs for parents, youth workers and leaders, and other caring adults who are interested in the well-being of the Muslim American youth within Islamic or non-Islamic institutions
  • Provide the Muslim American Community with comprehensive Youth Development models that are deeply rooted in the Qura'n and the Sunnah of the prophet, pbuh, and that address Muslim American youth's multi-faceted needs
  • Network local youth programs through a dynamic and resourceful website as well as regional and national events so that they can share resources, good practices and ideas
  • Develop affiliations with National organizations that share the mission of ISNA and its YPS Department
  • Become the main source of resources and information regarding youth-related issues within the Muslim American Community
