Islamic Society of Evansville Seeking Imam-Director of Education

Location: Evansville IN

Job Description:

• The position requires organizing and teaching education programs for children, youth and adult.
• Represent Islam in interfaith programs and conduct Dawa activities.
• Imam for prayers, especially Friday prayers.
  

Qualifications:

• Formal degree in Islamic Studies.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in organizing and teaching education programs for children, youth and adults.
• Ability to represent Islam in interfaith programs and conduct Dawa activities.
• Ability to act as Imam for prayers, especially Friday prayers.
• Be well versed with different Islamic schools of thought and be able to appreciate practices, traditions of diverse Muslim population in the community.
• A good knowledge of Arabic and recitation of Quran is required.
• Visa and Residency requirements: Must be a U S citizen, Permanent Resident or have a U S work visa.
