Speakers Corner

The conferences and conventions continue to be an ISNA tradition devoted to better understanding Islam and developing stronger Islamic personalities and communities. Our goal is to help facilitate the incorporation of Islamic principles in the pluralist society we live in and reaffirm the existence of diversity that has historically always existed within Islam. Conference participants are inspired and motivated by such scholarly discussions and presentations.

Over the years, ISNA has consistently been able to identify and highlight new speakers.  As a result of ISNA’s success, American Muslim communities look to ISNA to identify and assist them in providing appropriate speakers for their conferences and other events.

The Programs Department is in the process of gathering the names and biographies of such Muslim scholars and youth leaders who are making invaluable contributions in their areas of expertise and scholarship at their local community level. Undoubtedly, the respected local communities in which these individuals belong to are benefiting from their talent.  However, their prominence has not yet reached the national platform.

Currently, the Programs Department is requesting the assistance of local communities to gather names and biographies of scholars and community leaders who they believe can make meaningful contributions to our conferences and seminars.

To help us make an informed decision we will need the following information regarding the scholar you recommend:

  • A detailed resume with recent photo.
  • Copies of written publications, if any.
  • Video/audio samples of talks/presentations.
  • A commitment on the part of the sponsoring organization to bear some of the costs of the speaker
