The Department of Program Development and Educational Services
The Program’s Department is responsible for developing the content of ISNA’s conventions and conferences. The Department strives to make each program exciting and significant for its participants, while promoting a better understanding of Islam and current issues that affect Muslims. One of the main goals of the department is to foster Muslim identity through themes and topics which encourage discussions, and help broaden the American Muslim mind. The department ensures that themes and topics are developed through consultation with scholars and regional leaders. In order to improve the academic quality of the conferences the department actively searches for experts to address conferences. We also prepare a list of major issues and challenges that Muslim communities face in North America.
The Department also plays an influential role in helping Islamic schools improve their curricula, find good staff members, and administer their schools more efficiently. In collaboration with the Council of Islamic Schools of North America (CISNA) Department assists regional groups, Islamic Centers, and youth groups develop their own conferences.
