Dr. Louay Safi, the Executive Director of ISNA (Islamic
Society of North America) Leadership Development Center, Plainfield, Indiana,
will present a program about Middle Eastern Culture and Society. Dr. Safi's
presentation will be on Thursday, March 19, at 6:00 p.m. in the ISU Library's
Events Area. This seminar introduces the audience to Middle Eastern society and
culture and outlines the impact of religion, history, and natural resources on
contemporary experience. The seminar particularly highlights the impact of
Islamic values and beliefs on social interaction, including family and gender
relations, modernization, and political conflict.
Librarian Carol Lunce and Mr. Jacques Fuqua, Director of ISU's
International Affairs Center, will be the hosting this event. Dr. Safi's
presentation is co-sponsored by ISU's Library and ISU's International Affairs
Center. Invite a friend and come to this enlightening presentation. The event
