ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - IOICA in Washington, DC


The Islamic Society of North America Office for Interfaith and Community Alliances is seeking a motivated, efficient person to fill the full-time position of Administrative Assistant, starting immediately.

Job Description:

The administrative assistant is responsible for providing administrative and secretarial help for the office directors, as well as maintaining records, managing databases, and assisting in the general correspondence of IOICA. He or she is specifically responsible for undertaking the following tasks:

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the IOICA with general office operations.
  • Managing appointments and travel of IOICA directors.
  • Maintaining IOICA databases (Interfaith contact, key community leaders, and resource persons).
  • Writing business and correspondence letters and memos.
  • Keeping up-to-date files and records.
  • Dispatching letters and mailing campaigns.
  • Assisting in logistical preparations for meetings and arrange for visitors and guests.
  • Answering phones, faxing and other related office duties.
  • Other tasks may be occasionally assigned by the directors as needed.
Qualifications:

Successful applicants are expected to be versed in administrative work; having previous experience with non-profit organizations is preferable. Applicants must fulfill the following:
  • College degree with administrative experience.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse interfaith groups within religiously pluralistic settings.
  • Previous office experience is preferred.
Note:

The position is a full time job in the ISNA Office for Interfaith and Community Alliances in Washington, DC and requires the successful applicant to work out of the IOICA in Washington, DC. Successful applicants will receive competitive salary and fringe benefits.  Pay is commensurate with education, skills and experience.
