Faroque Ahmad Khan, M.B., M.A.C.P., Chapter President
Faroque A. Khan was the chairman for the Department of Medicine in
Nassau County Medical Center; East Meadow, NY from 1987 to 1999. In
1993 he was awarded Mastership in American College of Physicians (ACP).
From 1995 to 2001 Mr. Khan served as regent at American College of
Physicians Board of Regents. In 1988, he was awarded the New York State
Laurette Awardee; this award honors those members of the American
College of Physicians who have demonstrated, by their example and
conduct, an abiding commitment of excellence in medical care,
education, or research, and in service to their community.
Some of many community services Mr. Khan has been active in are as follows:
Past President, Nargis Dutt Memorial Foundation: 1984-1985
Helps in upgrading medical facilities in India.
Excellence Award from the American Federation of Muslims From India
Presented October 1999 for outstanding academic career, philanthropic and humanitarian activities.
Past President, Islamic Medical Association of North American (IMANA): 1986-1988
Past Chairman, American Council of International Physicians: 1989-1990
Coalition of various ethnic physician organizations which represent over 100,000 international physicians in the USA.
Eastern Queens Democratic Club Annual Community Service Award
May 25, 2000 by the Eastern Queens Democratic Club for community and philanthropic service.

Mr. Khan developed an active Muslim-Jewish dialogue which was
presented as a "model" at the Annual Union of American Hebrew
Congregation , held in San Francisco in October 1993. This dialogue has
been featured in several leading news articles; example, JEWISH WORLD
(September 10-16, 1993); lead article NEWSDAY, November 13, 1993 -
Muslims and Jews Pray Together. Featured speaker at Havdalah Hour,
Temple Beth El, November 22, 1997.
De also developed a school-hospital partnership apprenticeship
program between Westbury High School and Nassau County Medical Center,
with an objective of providing minority students an opportunity to see
how health care is delivered in a public hospital. This program was
highlighted in The Westbury Times and Newsday. Received Community
Education Award from the New Cassel Republican Executive Council on May
1, 1997 and the Central Westbury Civic Association Award on June
15,2002.
